Citroën has presented the new C5 Aircross Hybrid, which is offered from 40,390 euros in Germany. The Citroën C5 Aircross is the largest and most ambitious SUV from Citroën.

The plug-in hybrid offers a system output of 165 kW, to which the electric motor contributes 80 kW. The battery with 13.2 kWh capacity allows a purely electric WLTP range of up to 50 kilometers. The battery is only charged with alternating current, but the built-in onboard charger is only designed to be single-phase. Charging time should be less than three hours at a corresponding wallbox or public AC charging station; Citroën's charging time for a household socket is seven hours.

The charging cable can be stored in a compartment under the boot floor. According to the manufacturer, in the PHEV version, the variability of the trunk should be preserved. Since the battery is installed under the rear seats, the loading volume remains at 460 to 600 liters. In addition, the rear individual seats are retractable, movable and adjustable. When the backrests are folded down, a 1.90 meter long loading area is created.

Since the WLTP range in electric mode is over 50 kilometers and the CO2 emissions at 39 grams per kilometer, the C5 Aircross Hybrid can be registered in Germany with an E-mark and is also qualified for the environmental bonus.

Citroën C5 Aircross Hybrid 2020 has 225 hp of maximum power.

As regards consumption, this Citroën manages to approve an average expenditure of 1.7 liters per 100 kilometers and record CO2 emissions of only 39 grams per kilometer.

The new Citroën C5 Aircross Hybrid will be produced in Rennes-La Janais, France, and will be delivered from mid-2020.
