Hyundai will improve its award-winning Ioniq 5 when the 2023 model comes out. In the new Hyundai Ioniq 5, there will be a new 77.4 kWh battery, which is much bigger than the old one (58 kWh). In addition, Hyundai will also add several new features to its 100 % electric midsize CUV, like battery improvements and video-based digital mirrors.

In February 2021, Hyundai launched the Ioniq 5 all over the world. It is the first electric model built on Hyundai Motor Group's new Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). It has been popular with journalists and people who buy Hyundai cars. Last year, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 won around 30 awards in the industry, including the prestigious Car of the Year (Germany). In addition, Ioniq 5 is also a finalist for the European Car of the Year 2022 award this year.

The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 will have video-based digital mirrors inside and outside the car for the first time. The Digital Center Mirror (DCM) improves visibility by giving an unobstructed, panoramic view of the back of the car. The DCM camera is below the rear spoiler of the Ioniq 5.

The Digital Side Mirrors (DSM) system will also be added to Hyundai's new fully electric Ioniq 5. This high-tech feature will be available in Europe for the first time. The Korean-version Ioniq 5 already has this feature. 2023 Ioniq 5 owners will be able to see the back of their cars even in bad weather, thanks to DSM. Like the Audi e-tron or the Honda-e, digital exterior mirrors can be installed on the electric car instead of the analog side mirrors. The price for DSM is around 960 euros.

A new battery conditioning feature will allow the Hyundai Ioniq 5 to automatically adjust its battery temperature while driving to be charged in the best way possible when it gets to the charging station. This means that real-life charging performance will be better in cold weather. In addition, when a charging station is entered into the car's navigation system, connected routing automatically turns on this feature.

The new Smart Frequency Dampers (SFD) will improve the response of front and rear axle suspensions to make the ride more comfortable. In addition, this will make the electric car more stable.

2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 will have more options in terms of design. These are non-painted black bumpers with black garnishes and Projection LED lights.

Customers in Europe can buy the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 in the second half of 2022.
