Hyundai Motor Company is once again celebrating a triumphant win as the Ioniq 6 has been named the World Car of the Year, Electric Car of the Year, and Car Design of the Year for 2023. This is the second year in a row that Hyundai has swept all three categories at the World Car Awards, following the Ioniq 5's victory in 2022.

The Ioniq 6's exceptional performance and stunning design impressed the jury of 100 motoring journalists from 32 countries who voted on the finalists, all of which were launched in 2022. The car's unique black long range and aerodynamic design were particularly praised, as was its WLTP range of up to 614 kilometers.

Powered by Hyundai Motor's advanced electric car platform E-GMP, the Ioniq 6 takes advantage of 800V technology, enabling it to charge from 10 to 80 percent in only 18 minutes. Its low drag coefficient of 0.21 makes it one of the most aerodynamic electric cars in the world, resulting in exceptional efficiency.

With its innovative features, such as V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and advanced driver assistance systems, the Ioniq 6 sets the standard for smart mobility solutions. The car's spacious interior is designed for both peace and functionality, with two-tone mood lighting and an ergonomic layout that takes advantage of the car's long wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

Hyundai Motor Company's commitment to being a global leader in electric vehicles is exemplified by its plans to introduce 17 battery electric vehicles by 2030 and to increase global electric car sales to 1.87 million vehicles by the same year. The Ioniq 6 is the second model in Hyundai's dedicated electric car portfolio, Ioniq.

"We are very excited to receive these prestigious awards for the second year in a row. They give recognition to all our talents and the effort put in by everyone at Hyundai Motor Company for us to be able to deliver electric cars like the Ioniq 6," says President and CEO Jaehoon Chang of Hyundai Motor Company.

The Ioniq 6's win at the World Car Awards is just one of many awards the car has received, including being named Best in Class in the segment for large family cars by EuroNCAP. With its exceptional performance, stunning design, and innovative features, the Ioniq 6 is truly a car that sets the standard for electric vehicles.

With the Ioniq 6 leading the charge, it's clear that Hyundai is dedicated to providing smart mobility solutions that meet the needs of today's drivers while also addressing the challenges of tomorrow.

But it's not just about providing great electric cars - it's about creating a sustainable future for all. With their focus on innovation, design, and sustainability, Hyundai is proving that electric cars can be both stylish and practical without compromising on performance.

So, what's next for Hyundai and the Ioniq lineup? With their commitment to electric mobility, we can expect to see even more exciting developments in the years to come.
