The EQC will be the first electric car of the EQ family. It is already available for order and from July you will start with the deliveries. We tell you what you need to know about the first electric SUV from Mercedes.

The Mercedes EQC is scheduled to hit the market in the second half of 2019, most probably in July.

The price is now clear: the EQC starts at 71,281 euros, the special Edition 1886 is available from 84,930 euros. With the gross price just over 70,000 euros, the customers are happy, because the net price is less than 60,000 euros, which entitles you as a buyer to take advantage of the e-car purchase premium.

Mercedes is reinventing itself with the EQC. A new drive system, each with an electric drive train on the front and rear axles, is used. Thus, the E-SUV has virtually all-wheel drive. The power of the EQC is 408 hp, a maximum torque of 760 Nm makes you quite satisfied.

The lithium-ion battery is located in the vehicle floor and has a capacity of 80 kWh. The specified range by Mercedes is 445-471 kilometers, the maximum speed is limited to 180 km / h. As a driver, you can choose between five different driving programs. You can choose from Comfort, Eco, Max Range, Sport and Individual. The lithium-ion batteries are supplied by a subsidiary of Mercedes and are delivered partially charged. They weigh 652 kilos.

It takes only 5.1 seconds to do 0 to 100, an incredible figure for this SUV that weighs 2,500 kilos.

The EQC is really helpful only if you load at a fast charging station because you have 80 percent of the power back within 40 minutes. Otherwise: 11 hours from a wallbox and 41 hours with a household socket until the battery is full again.

The electric SUV is 4.83 meters long, 1.88 meters wide and 1.62 meters high.

In the interior, Mercedes relies on well-known and well-proven design for years. Because too many innovations at once could scare off the Mercedes customers. This Mercedes has relatively large rear seats for two adults, and the trunk covers 500 liters.

The standard equipment is another of the EQC's strengths, as it includes blind spot control, Multibeam Led headlamps with automatic lights, tinted windows, Keyless-Go comfort package (access and keyless start), parking pack with camera and sensors, electric mirrors.

The EQC will compete with the Audi e-tron and Jaguar I-Pace. If you are already interested in an e-car, then you can look at the best electric cars in our list.
