The newest technology breakthroughs will enable up to 22 kilometers greater range in the WLTP cycle and much more in everyday life for the 100 percent electric versions of the Peugeot 208 and Peugeot 2008 models starting in early 2022.

With over 90,000 cars built, the Peugeot e-208 and Peugeot e-2008, debuted in late 2019, have been a significant success. The two models demonstrate the importance of Peugeot's electrification approach.
Based on the eCMP (Common Modular Platform), both models have the latest technology breakthroughs to provide drivers with a longer range, including a 50 kWh battery, a 100 kW electric motor (136 hp), and a torque of 260 Nm.

First and foremost, the tires were optimized by switching to A + quality class. As a result, higher efficiency is ensured by decreased rolling resistance. This applies to the Peugeot e-208's 16-inch alloy wheels and the Peugeot e-2008's 17-inch alloy wheels. Furthermore, a technical advancement with a new gear ratio maximizes range when running on the road and the highway.

A new heat pump optimizes the energy efficiency of heating and air conditioning in combination with a humidity sensor connected to the top of the windshield. The information sent by the sensor allows for more exact management of the circulating air in the interior. This reduces the battery's energy usage during heating and guarantees that the temperature inside the car remains constant. This improvement is particularly notable when the ambient temperature is low.

In summary, all these developments ensure an increased range per the WLTP homologation cycle:

The Peugeot e-208 now offers a WLTP range of up to 362 kilometers

- (combined), corresponding to an increase of 22 kilometers.

The Peugeot e-2008 now offers a WLTP range of up to 342 kilometers

- (combined), corresponding to an increase of 22 kilometers.

In addition to the enhanced range in the WLTP cycle, there is also a considerable boost in the practical use of roughly 40 kilometers in city traffic at temperatures near zero degrees Celsius.
