The Skywell company, which also produces electric buses, began operations in 2019. Her first passenger model called ET5 will enter the market in the second half of this year. According to a Skywell press release, E stands for "Battery Electric Vehicle" and T stands for "Technology". The manufacturer, Tianmei Automobile, will number the models based on body types and sizes. Even numbers (2, 4, 6 and 8) are already reserved for sedans and odd numbers (1, 3, 5 and 7) for SUVs. Therefore, "ET5" is positioned as a mid-size SUV.

The total length of the ET5 is 4.7 m, the wheelbase is 2.8 m. The cruising range calculated as part of the NEDC European driving cycle reaches 500 km.

All versions of the Skywell ET5 electric vehicle will come with matrix LED headlights. The taillights form a single cluster that runs across the entire width of the hull; this solution is typical of modern automotive design. The rear Skywell logo is backlit.

Black is the main colour used indoors. The T-shaped cockpit uses a wrap-around design, with a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. The digital dashboard fits on a 12.3-inch full LCD display. On an additional monitor with a diagonal of 12.8-inch, you can watch TV shows using the Skylink intelligent system, developed in conjunction with the television operator Skyworth.

In the next five years, Skywell plans to launch four brand-new models based on two platforms. The "BE" platform is aimed at affordable electric cars, while the "CE" platform is designed to produce more expensive fully electric vehicles and study new technical solutions.

Skywell ET5 will be equipped with a HEPA air conditioning filter system, which can filter 99.99% of PM2. 5 particles larger than 0.3μm and achieve a filtering effect comparable to N95. Combined with a series of high-temperature cycle sterilization and negative ion generators to ensure the safety of air in the car, it can effectively eliminate bacteria in the car, establishing a healthy SUV for buyers, and creating a safe and comfortable mobile space.
