The seventh generation of the BMW 7 Series is almost ready to hit the roads. Forty-five years after the first BMW 7 Series launch, the model range is completed by the fully electric BMW i7. The new BMW i7 luxury sedan offers luxury driving pleasure, outstanding features, and digital innovations.

Unique to the new model is that different model variants are launched on different continents - and thus adapted to the individual markets. In Europe, the launch starts with the fully-electric BMW i7 xDrive60. At the beginning of next year, more variants will follow in the form of a fully electric sedan and two plug-in hybrid models.

The BMW i7 xDrive60 electric car has a four-wheel drive and two electric motors, which provide 400 kW (544 hp). The acceleration from 0-100 km / h is reached in just 4.7 seconds, and the top speed is 240 km / h. The BMW i7 has an 18.4-19.6 kWh / 100 km power consumption. The power is received from the 101.7 kWh high-voltage battery. The BMW i7 xDrive60 luxury electric car's maximum range is around 590-625 km.

With AC charging of 11 kW, the battery is charged from 10 to 100% in 9.5 hours. With DC charging up to 195 kW, the battery can be charged from 10-80% in 34 minutes.

The wheelbase of the new BMW i7 model is 3,215 mm, which is five mm more than its predecessor. At the same time, the length was increased by 130 mm to 5,391 mm, the width was increased by 48 mm to 1,950 mm, and the height by 51 mm to 1,544 mm. The adaptive air suspension on both axles ensures comfortable and dynamic long-distance comfort.

The luxury class's special features dominate the new BMW 7 Series's front with the two-part headlight design with narrow and horizontal LED light elements mounted high on the front. With the BMW Iconic Glow, position lights, daytime running lights, and turn signals are surrounded by exclusive crystal glass. Below these, built into the front spoiler, are the adaptive matrix LED units for low beam and high beam. These lights only appear when activated. The distinctive BMW grille can also be illuminated elegantly and discreetly.

The elegant design is supported by the elongated and dynamic silhouette and is completed by the narrow LED taillights in a completely new design on the rear end. To further increase comfort, the new BMW 7 Series can be ordered with automatic opening and closing of the doors. At the same time, the model offers extra comfort for the rear seat passengers with significantly more space than in the predecessor and easier access via the long doors.

The luxurious cabin has four-zone climate control as standard with a nanoparticle filter and a sea of new functions, including a newly designed gear selector, glass applications on selected buttons, a new two-spoke steering wheel, and the option of the brand new upholstery which looks and works like leather.

The standard-mounted panoramic glass roof has a surface that is 40% larger than its predecessor. In addition, the intuitive BMW Curved Display - which is also found in the electric BMW iX and BMW i4 - and the BMW Head-Up Display make driving even more relaxing.

The all-new BMW Interaction Bar has a crystal design with Shy Tech integrated lighting and climate features across the instrument panel. That is, they only appear during use. The lighting can be adjusted to personal preference. Electric comfort seats with lumbar support are standard, and as an option, a massage function with nine different programs can be selected for both rows of seats.

The new BMW 7 Series is prepared for Level 3 autonomous driving. The comprehensive standard equipment includes, among other things, warning for oncoming traffic and warning for cyclists and pedestrians, adaptive cruise control, Stop & Go, steering and roadway assistant, and parking assistant.

The new BMW i7 offers a truly unforgettable entertainment experience. The BMW Theater Screen transforms the rear seats into a private cinema lounge with the 31.3-inch panoramic touch screen with 8K resolution and the Bowers & Wilkens surround sound system with over 30 integrated speakers. Furthermore, the BMW i7 adjusts the optimal lighting and sun protection so that the rear seat passengers get the optimal conditions to stream videos, listen to their favorite music and watch selected programs on the trip. It is all controlled via the touch screen or on the small screens in the doors.

Sales start with the BMW i7 xDrive60 model from 208,000 euros.

When the two BMW 7 plug-in hybrid variants are launched next year, they will have more than 80 km of electric range.
