Dacia Spring has a great dream: to be the cheapest electric car on the market. A result that would allow it to represent the real alternative to the versions with a combustion engine.

Similar to the prototype, Dacia Spring will be built on the basis of the City K-Ze electric car sold by Renault in China.

Dacia Spring is expected in 2021.

The Chinese from 12365auto.com reveal that Dacia Spring could use a 26.8 kWh electric battery and a 33 kW electric motor for a range of approximately 250 km.

The proportions are for small cars: less than 4 meters in length for a weight of less than 1,000 kg. The specifications are based on the City K-ZE which incorporates the CMF (Common Module Family) architecture for small electric cars.

The price should be the advantage of Spring, the main characteristic that could make it a commercial success. Taking into consideration some standards required by the European market, the final price should not exceed 11,000 euros.

Dacia Spring is an ideal solution for new mobility services, such as car-sharing fleets.
