Cooltra has launched a new electric bike-sharing service in Barcelona, Spain. Bicycles can be rented by the minute via the eCooltra app. For the launch, the company offers a promotion of 5 euros discount for all trips.
From this week, Barcelona has a fleet of 300 eCooltra bicycles, which will grow in the coming months to have more than 600 electric bikes.
The shared mobility app is the same as the motorcycle sharing app. That is, through it, you can rent motorcycles and bikes. The difference between both services is that to drive an eCooltra electric bicycle it is not necessary to have a driving license, although you must be of legal age. The price of this service is the same as that of electric motorcycles, 0.24 euros per minute.
This new electric bicycles sharing service is proposed as a sustainable mobility option for people without a license who need an alternative to public transport.
The eCooltra electric bicycles can reach a speed of 25km / h.
The eCooltra company, a subsidiary of the Cooltra Group was founded in 2016. It is now present in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Lisbon, Milan and Rome, with a fleet of 7,400 electric vehicles powered by fully renewable energy.
