Thursday, Volkswagen officially announces that it has started production of the new ID.4 model. The electric SUV ID.4 offers over 500km of autonomy (without mentioning the battery capacity) and will be available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The official presentation of the electric car is scheduled for September.

The electric SUV ID.4 is produced in Germany at the Zwickau plant, and on this occasion the manufacturer published a video material informing about the production process.

The ID.4 model with an electric propulsion system will have an aerodynamic coefficient of 0.28 and that the interior will be spacious and almost completely digitized, with most functions accessible via touch screens and voice commands.

The future Volkswagen ID.4 will use Matrix LED headlights known under the trade name IQ Light.

The new Volkswagen ID.4 electric SUV will also be produced in Anting (China) and, starting in 2022, at the Chattanooga plant (USA). The official presentation of the new Volkswagen ID.4 will take place at the end of September.
