The Volkswagen ID.3 will be delivered from the second week of September. At a price that puts Tesla under pressure.

One year after its premiere at the 2019 IAA, the first copies of the ID.3 are to be delivered to pre-orders. These are the Volkswagen ID.3 1st edition fully electric cars. When pre-ordering, these customers had already paid a reservation fee of 1,000 euros (this money will be charged or refunded if the order is cancelled).

From June 17, those customers who have pre-ordered the car can sign their purchase contracts and choose the last details of the equipment.

The ID.3 is the first Volkswagen passenger car developed purely as an electric car. The ID.3 has to run, safely, reliably and economically, otherwise, Volkswagen will not be able to connect to the competitor Tesla and establish itself at the top of the market.

The Volkswagen ID.3 basic edition will be sold at a base price under 40,000 euros. According to Volkswagen, the range is around 350 kilometres in the basic version and up to 500 kilometres with the largest battery currently available. The Volkswagen ID.3 basic edition highlights: air conditioning system "Air Care Climatronic" with 2-zone temperature control, seat and steering wheel heating, front armrests, fast charging, 18-inch alloy wheels, natural voice control and much more are standard.

The ID.3 is on average noticeably cheaper than Tesla Model 3.

In the variant ID.3 1st Plus it should be less than 46,000 euros, the ID.3 1st Max costs less than 50,000 euros.

The first edition of the Volkswagen ID.3 has a 58 kWh battery. It is driven by an electric motor on the rear axle. It has an output of 150 kW and a maximum torque of 310 Newton meters. The ID.3 accelerates to 60 km / h in 3.4 seconds without shifting - driving pleasure as standard.

Volkswagen wants to become the world market leader in electromobility and will invest around 33 billion euros by 2024. Volkswagen is planning to produce around 1.5 million electric cars per year by 2025. For example, Tesla is currently approaching an annual production of 400,000 vehicles.
