Ford wants to demonstrate the fantastic performance and power of electric technology by introducing the Mustang Mach-E 1400, a model produced in a single model that has 7 electric motors (three are located on the front axle and four on the rear axle) and 1,400 horsepower and a top speed of 258 km / h. The electric motors act on the differentials via a common drive shaft.

The new Mustang Mach-E 1400 has been developed using a Mustang Cobra Jet 1400. Both the chassis and the driveline are designed to give the car usability no other vehicle can offer today. The one car produced is the result of a collaboration between Ford Performance and RTR where they have put together tens of thousands of hours to show customers what an electric car can actually achieve in terms of performance.

Ford mentioned that the only model of the new Mustang Mach-E 140 will soon debut in a NASCAR race.

The battery that provides power to the 7 electric motors has 56.8 kWh and it is about 25% smaller than the one used on the production version of the Mustang Mach-E SUV. The battery consists of nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) cells that provide major performance. In order to charge the Ford faster between races, the battery system is cooled.

In addition to promotional purposes for the Mach-E, the prototype is primarily used to test the use of new materials.

Ford is investing $11.5 billion in the development of electric vehicles. The first global launch is the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV. The first Ford electric cars are expected to arrive early next year.
