Lotus has just presented its first all-electric model, the Evija, a 2,000 hp supercar that accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 3.0 seconds, reaches a maximum speed of 320 km / h and has 400 km of autonomy.

Lotus had long been warning that sooner rather than later will launch a supercar. Well, that moment has arrived and the truth is that the British brand has managed to surprise us since no one expected a completely electric model with 2,000 HP and considerable autonomy.

Its production will begin at the beginning of 2020 and only 130 units will be manufactured.

Lotus Evija will cost 1.7 million pounds (1.88 million euros) before taxes and customers who are interested in one can already leave a deposit of 250,000 pounds (276,460 euros) to reserve it.

If we talk about its design, it has nothing to do with any previous Lotus, neither on the outside nor on the inside. Of course, it has been developed with the aerodynamics in focus, so much so that it removes the side mirrors and, instead, uses a system of cameras that project images on two screens located inside the doors.

Inside, it has a minimalist approach.

The Lotus Evija weights 1,680 kg thanks to the massive use of ultralight materials, especially carbon fiber. If we add to this equation the 2,000 HP of its four electric motors, we obtain as a result a power-weight ratio of 0.84 kg/hp.

And what about his autonomy? The truth is that this section is also surprising because its battery capacity of 70 kWh will allow it to travel up to 400 km. In addition, it can be recharged at charging points of up to 350 kW, where it will only need 12 minutes to charge from 0 to 80%.

Acceleration 0-100 indicated as less than 3 seconds, 0-300 in less than 9 seconds; top speed over 320 Km / h. Autonomy declared of 400 Km calculated with the WLTP standard. Vehicle dimensions: length 4.459 mm, width 2.000 mm, height 1.122 mm. @via Lotus.
