The Hockenheim Circuit (Hockenheimring) is one of the most popular in Germany. A route inaugurated in 1932 was conceived in the shape of a triangle and with more than 12 kilometers in length. Formula 1 cars, racing cars from various categories, or motorcycles from the Superbike championship have raced on its asphalt. It is a key event in the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters), closing the calendar each season. Porsche wanted to honor ninety years of motorsport history with the new Taycan GTS Hockenheimring Edition.

A curious choice for an electric car to honor a circuit, but the truth is that it could not be more successful since, as the entire automotive industry, Hockenheim has been in constant evolution, and little remains of the original layout, which is more than 12 kilometers long. In 1938 a new route of seven kilometers was built and used until 1965 when several chicanes were built to improve the safety of a high-speed circuit. Finally, in 2002 the stadium section was introduced, monopolizing the entire circuit.

Like Hockenheim, the Porsche Taycn results from a process of evolution that began in 1931. It took nine decades and many cars, including myths such as the 911, the 550, the Carrera GT, or the 918 Spyder. The Porsche brand has culminated with the Taycan; Porsche has put all its knowledge and know-how into its first electric, a benchmark for plug-in sportiness. Porsche has opted for the Sport Turismo bodywork for this tribute edition, a hybrid between the saloon and the Cross Turismo that seeks more incredible sportiness with a specific adjustment of the PASM adaptive chassis system and the rear-axle steering system, as well as the integration of Porsche Electric Sport Sound.

The Porsche Taycan GTS Hockenheimring Edition is a version focused on aesthetic details, without changes to the chassis or the engine, with 440 kW (598 hp) capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 in 3.7 seconds and reaching 250 km/h. Its autonomy is the highest among the model versions, with 504 kilometers.

The additions then go through touch-ups inside and outside that enhance its elegance and sportiness. In the interior, the decorative stitching in Island Green color takes center stage by contrasting with the black leather of the rest of the elements. Personally, I don't like this color. Inserts in Paldao wood and elements, such as the gear lever, the cup holders, the steering wheel, or the air outlets, in Bronzite color are added. An exclusive version logo will not be missing on the center console, the "Taycan GTS" inscription on the door trims, and a light system that projects the version logo on the ground.

Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur is the author of this special edition model of the brand's electric sports car, which includes Stone Gray color on the exterior as an exclusive tone for the bodywork and details on the skirts, the diffuser, and the "Taycan GTS" inscription on the rear, again, in Bronzite to enhance its elegance. In addition, 21-inch Mission E Design wheels in Stone Gray and Bronzite are also exclusive. The unique edition logo will be visible on the B-pillar.

With the Taycan GTS Hockenheimring Edition, the customer will receive some privileges, such as exclusive access to the Porsche Experience Center in Hockenheim to perform runs on its track or free access to the brand's chargers for two years. In addition, they will have free parking for specific monthly events for customers and fans of the brand. Porsche has not revealed the price of this special edition, but it will certainly be higher than the 135,000 euros price of the standard Taycan GTS.
