Renault is continuing the success story of the small van with the new Renault Kangoo Van E-TECH Electric. The new electric van will be on sale in spring 2022, with an economic propulsion package that includes a 45 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 90 kW (120 hp) electric motor. The electric minivan's battery can be recharged with a broad range of charging capacities and currents thanks to a flexible charging system. Renault's new electric van for city deliveries will be manufactured at the company's French facility in Maubeuge.

The new Renault Kangoo Van E-TECH Electric has a lithium-ion battery with a 45 kWh capacity which provides a WLTP range of up to 300 km, depending on driving style, route profile, and outside temperature. With a maximum torque of 245 Nm, the powerful electric motor provides superb handling. The various combinations of driving styles/brake types allow the driver to select between six distinct driving modes for maximum comfort and range, depending on the vehicle's use and traffic circumstances. For example, the B-mode allows for a relaxing one-pedal operation. This driving mode aims for more security, especially in metropolitan traffic, traffic congestion, and stop-and-go traffic. The electric motor is manufactured at Renault's Cleon factory in Normandy.

The new Renault Kangoo Van E-TECH Electric has the revolutionary CHAMELEON CHARGER battery charging system for alternating current. The revolutionary technology allows the battery to be charged at a variety of charging capacities and currents. Accelerated charging to full capacity is usual at a three-phase current station (AC) with a charging capability of 11 kW. With standard charging with 7.4 kW charging power, the battery can be supplied with energy less than seven hours. In addition, accelerated charging at a three-phase current (AC) station with a charging capacity of 22 kW is optionally possible for the new city delivery van, as is the supply to direct current stations with a charging capacity of up to 75 kW. Optional chargers include an 80kW rapid-charge DC charger capable of recovering 170km of range in 30 minutes.

The interior air conditioning in the Renault Kangoo Van E-TECH Electric is exceptionally energy-efficient: using the heat pump, a considerable portion of the energy for heating and cooling is extracted from the ambient air rather than the battery, lowering the electricity consumption. Extra features available on-demand: windshield heating, heated front seats, and heated steering wheel.

Renault, like its predecessor, provides the new Kangoo electric van in two length variations with the same storage space and payload as its conventional counterparts. The Renault Kangoo Van E-TECH Electric can store up to 3.9 cubic meters in the standard length, and the long version can store up to 4.9 cubic meters. The payload may weigh up to 600 kg in the standard length version (long version: 800 kilograms). In addition, the small electric van has a towing capacity of up to 1,500 kg.

After all, the electric van for urban deliveries has the exact equipment details just like its sister models with a combustion engine. With "Open Sesame by Renault," this includes the widest side loading opening in the compact van class. This is made possible by integrating the B-pillar into the sliding door and passenger door on the right side of the car to create uniquely wide access to the loading area. The "Easy Inside Rack" will be another charging innovation for the Kangoo Van E-TECH Electric. The foldable inner gallery allows long objects such as ladders or pipes to be transported on the vehicle, leaving the load compartment floor free for additional cargo.

The Kangoo Van E-TECH Electric also features the "Renault Easy Link" online multimedia system, the keyless entry and start system, the Easy-Life drawer, and the option of converting the interior into a mobile office.
