This is the new Q4 e-tron Sportback electric SUV, the refined version of the concept presented more than a year ago. Audi announces that the Q4 e-tron Sportback and​ Q4 e-tron will go into production in 2021.

From a technical point of view, the two electric SUVs are very similar. And the Q4 Sportback e-tron is powered by two electric motors, which together develop 306 hp (225 kW) managed by the quattro all-wheel-drive system. The battery with a capacity of 82 kWh ensures a range of more than 450 kilometres. For models with rear-wheel drive, the range will increase to over 500 kilometres.

In terms of performance, the Q4 e-tron Sportback accelerates from 0-100 km / h in 6.3 seconds and up to a top speed of 180 km / h

The batteries of the Q4 e-tron Sportback electric SUV can be charged to power sources up to 125 kW, and for an 80% charge takes about 30 minutes.

Audi Q4 Sportback has a length of 4.6 meters, width of 1.9 meters, wheelbase of 2.77 meters, height 1.6 meters. Audi speaks of an "unimagined level of room comfort, especially in terms of legroom", which is supported by the generous wheelbase. Approximately identical to its brother Q4 e-tron, which is one centimetre shorter and one centimetre higher.

In the interior, most functions can be operated via a 12.3-inch touchscreen in the centre console. There is also only one display behind the steering wheel, and because there is no automatic selector lever between the seats, generous storage spaces are provided.

The Q4 Sportback e-tron will be built on the MEB (Modular Electrification Kit) platform, on which Audi will rely in the coming years for all its range of electric models. Volkswagen Group's Modular Electrification Kit (MEB) was specially developed for fully electric vehicles.

Audi seems serious about electromobility. By 2025, 20 pure electric cars will be part of the Ingolstadt portfolio. And it all started with the Audi e-tron quattro and its hatchback e-tron quattro Sportback.

Officially, both versions of the electric SUV are still declared as a concept, but it is certain that the production versions will be built almost unchanged.
