The president of ElectroMobility Poland (EMP) publishes that they will enter the electricity market with Izera, which is the first electric car brand in this country. The first models will be a hatchback and an SUV. This is a project developed following a partnership between four major local players in the energy area.

The name was inspired by the Jizera Mountains, which lie on the Polish-Czech border, and the Jizera River, which spills into the Elbe. The brand name, therefore, refers to cross-border cooperation with international partners.

Director for technical development, Łukasz Maliczenko, explained that the Izera would be ready for production in the third quarter of 2023.

Next year a factory and a production line are to be built. The factory will be built in the south of Poland, in Silesia.

The director of the ElectroMobility Poland project office, Małgorzata Królak, emphasized that building a Polish electric car is a great opportunity for the economy. Poland is also the largest country in Europe that does not have its own car brand. She pointed out that production will generate more than 15.5 thousand jobs.

The company is in talks with two international concerns regarding the delivery of the platform on which Izera will be built.

The Izera is to be a spacious car that will accelerate to a 100km/h in less than 8 seconds. Its range is to be 400 km. It is planned to introduce two battery capacities: 40 kWh and 60 kWh (with 0-80% charge in about 30 minutes).
