Polestar has unveiled a stunning concept car at the IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich, Germany. The Polestar Synergy is a one-off creation that showcases the talent and imagination of three student designers who won the Polestar Design Contest.

The Polestar Design Contest is an annual competition that invites aspiring designers worldwide to submit their ideas for a Polestar vehicle that embodies the brand's values of performance, sustainability, and innovation. The theme for the 2023 contest was "Performance," and the participants were asked to design a Polestar vehicle centered around the experience of performance, providing an advanced technical story that enables this in a sustainable way.

The contest received over 600 entries, and after a rigorous selection process, the judging panel decided to combine three winning designs into one cohesive concept car. The exterior of the Polestar Synergy is a fusion of two entries from Devashish Deshmukh and Swapnil Desai, both based in Paris, France. The interior is the work of Yingxiang Li, based in China. The three winners spent six months collaborating with the Polestar design team to refine their concepts and turn them into a full-scale model.

The result is a breathtaking electric fantasy supercar that draws inspiration from nature and emotional durability. The Polestar Synergy features a sleek and aerodynamic body with a distinctive hammerhead-shaped front end, a large rear wing, and a transparent canopy that opens to reveal a single-seat cockpit. The car is painted in a striking shade of blue-green that evokes the ocean and the sky.

The interior of the Polestar Synergy is designed to provide a floating sensation of comfort and control. The driver sits in a reclined position in a custom-made seat that adapts to their body shape and preferences. The seat is surrounded by a curved display that provides all the necessary information and functions. A bird's wing inspires the steering wheel and features touch-sensitive controls. The interior also incorporates sustainable materials such as recycled plastic, cork, and bamboo.

The Polestar Synergy is a visual masterpiece and a technological marvel. The car is powered by an electric drivetrain that delivers exhilarating performance and efficiency. The car has four electric motors, one for each wheel, that provide all-wheel drive and torque vectoring. The car also has an advanced battery system that uses solid-state cells for higher energy density and faster charging. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds and has a top speed of over 200 mph. The car also has a range of over 300 miles on a single charge.

The Polestar Synergy is more than just a concept car, it is also a symbol of collaboration and creativity. It demonstrates how Polestar encourages young talent and fosters innovation through its design community. It also shows how Polestar is pushing the boundaries of electric performance and automotive design with its vision of the future.

The Polestar Synergy is currently on display at the Polestar Space in Munich during IAA Mobility 2023, where it attracts attention from visitors and media alike. The electric car will also visit other Polestar locations worldwide in the future, allowing more people to see it in person.

Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath said: "Congratulations to the winners; their vision and the teamwork with our designers has resulted in a truly gorgeous car. The collaboration with Mattel for next year's Polestar Design Contest and the forthcoming scale models of our production cars will bring the Polestar brand and this groundbreaking competition to an even wider audience. All of this proves that electric vehicles – in reality, or as toys – can be just as, if not more, exciting than their ICE equivalents."

Polestar Head of Design Maximillian Missoni said: "This year, the story is as much about collaboration as performance. I'm proud that the team was able to guide and support the winners to realize their dream as a full-scale model. It's not often student designers receive such exposure at the start of their career, something the Polestar Design Community on Instagram does so well, amplified this year by the 1:1 scale model and its planned tour of Polestar locations worldwide." @via Polestar.
