Toyota will launch its first 100% electric car in 2020.

The Japanese company believes it is time to move on to the next act: electric mobility. We talk about mobility, and not just cars, since the electrification of the Toyota range will be accompanied by a decisive transformation of the very concept of mobility, towards something more sustainable but also accessible.

Starting 2020, the Toyota range will introduce a new modular platform for electric cars - the eTNGA - which in that same year will create 6 new models, including crossovers, SUVs, MPVs and others, all destined for the global market and equipped with advanced technologies.

In total, in the first phase of the offensive, there will be 10 new electric models.

In order for the electric car to become a truly affordable and affordable asset, Toyota will work with several partners to share the costs of research & development and production.

Six new models, some anticipated by the semi-definitive concepts shown in these images.

In particular, the six models will be:

a compact (developed with Suzuki and Daihatsu, the latter Toyota subsidiary)

a medium sized crossover

a medium-sized sedan

a medium-sized minivan

a medium-sized SUV (developed with Subaru)

a large SUV

All electric cars will be manufactured on the e-TNGA modular platform, a flexible architecture designed to adapt to different types of body, battery pack capacity and types of traction (front, rear or integral with double engine). global.toyota/en.
