Citroen has always been known for its quirky and innovative designs, from the iconic 2CV to the futuristic DS. The French automaker has never shied away from challenging the conventions of car design and offering something different to the market.

That's why I was so excited when I heard about the My Ami Buggy, a new limited edition version of the Citroen Ami, the tiny electric vehicle that debuted in 2020. The My Ami Buggy is a fun and funky take on the urban EV concept, with a removable roof, a colorful exterior, and a minimalist interior.

The My Ami Buggy is based on the Citroen Ami, which is already a very unconventional car. The Citroen Ami is a two-seater EV that measures only 2.41 meters long and 1.39 meters wide, making it easy to park and maneuver in crowded cities. It has a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph) and a range of 75 km (47 miles) on a single charge, which can be done in just three hours using a standard 220V socket.

The Citroen Ami is classified as a light electric quadricycle in Europe, which means it can be driven by anyone over 14 years old in France and 16 years old in most other countries without a license. It's also very affordable, with a starting price of €6,900 ($7,800) or a monthly subscription of €19.99 ($22.60) after an initial payment of €2,644 ($2,990).

But what makes the My Ami Buggy even more appealing is its playful and adventurous personality. The My Ami Buggy features a removable canvas roof that can be rolled up or down depending on the weather and the mood of the driver. It also has a bright orange color scheme that contrasts with the black body panels and wheels. The front and rear bumpers have integrated LED lights that create a distinctive signature at night.

The interior of the My Ami Buggy is simple but functional, with a digital instrument cluster, a smartphone holder, a USB socket, and a Bluetooth speaker. The seats are covered with recycled fabric and have orange stitching to match the exterior. The passenger seat can be folded down to create more space for luggage or other items.

The My Ami Buggy is not only fun to look at but also fun to drive. Thanks to its electric motor, it delivers instant torque and smooth acceleration. It also has a tight turning radius of 7.2 meters, which makes it agile and responsive in urban traffic. And because it's so small and light, it consumes very little energy and emits zero emissions.

The My Ami Buggy is not meant to be a practical or comfortable car for long journeys or highway speeds. It's meant to be a fun and easy way to get around town without worrying about parking, traffic, or pollution. It's meant to be a car that brings joy and freedom to its drivers, especially young and urban ones who don't need or want a conventional car.

Unfortunately, the My Ami Buggy is also very exclusive. Citroen will only produce 1,000 units of this limited edition model, which will be available in France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, and Germany. The price has not been announced yet, but it will likely be higher than the regular Citroen Ami.

If you're lucky enough to get your hands on one of these adorable EVs, you'll be sure to turn heads and make people smile wherever you go. The My Ami Buggy is not just a car but an expression of your personality and lifestyle.

Citroen will continue to make more cars like this in the future because they are exactly what we need in these challenging times: fun, eco-friendly, and original cars.
